1. Activate the igniter: Press the sparker button. 

2. Turn the control knob: While the sparker is on, turn the control knob counterclockwise about a quarter turn. 

3. Depress the knob: Fully press the black valve knob to release gas and ignite the flame. 

4. Hold for safety: Once the flame ignites, hold the knob in for 3-5 seconds to allow the thermocouple to warm up.

5. Release the knob: Releasing the knob should keep the fire pit lit. 

6. Adjust the flame: Turn the knob counterclockwise to reduce the flame or clockwise to increase it.
